Rules

  • WEEK 1 IS LIVE. Your match is on this page: find your fixture below, play your board, and report your result on it; your opponent confirms. Standings update as results confirm. The site table is combined; the pool-by-pool view is in the official schedule sheet. All league times are ET.
  • OFFICIAL SCHEDULE AND POOLS (Tek's sheet): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-1sQr7bOEd0dbtJPcvBDVuJMTXTc_8MYnrF4GAXTxHg/edit
  • DECK SUBMISSION FORM (post-patch, REQUIRED before your match): https://forms.gle/T876j6kBKdtcLxrf7
  • GROUP DRAW VOD: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3p8Y4a-RbA&t=1604s ; league casts and streams on Tek's channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJbabUg7H2zlj7BPN10YKZQ
  • OFFICIAL RULEBOOK (source of truth, read it): https://fateleague.com/rules/vanguard-official-rulebook.pdf The summary below follows the rulebook; where day-to-day operations need detail the rulebook does not cover, it is marked as a league operational rule.
  • Format: 3v3 team league for Chrono CCG. Free entry. Teams consist of a Team Captain, Player 1, and Player 2. Positions are assigned at sign-up and determine which opponent you play throughout the event (rulebook 2.1).
  • Structure: with 20 teams registered, the group stage runs as 4 pools of 5, round robin within your pool, per the official schedule sheet. One team per pool has the bye each week. The top teams advance to Top Cut.
  • Scheduling (rulebook 2.2.1): matches may be scheduled at any point from Monday 12 PM ET to Sunday 11 PM ET. Coordinate with your opponents in the Vanguard Discord. There is no check-in for this league.
  • Disputes (rulebook 2.2.2): if a TO is needed, pause the match until a TO is available.
  • DECK SUBMISSION (rulebook section 1)
  • - Team Captains submit every team member's deck for the week, as ChronoDB links, via the official form (linked above). Decks submitted any other way must be redone.
  • - Deck links are due 5:59 PM ET every Sunday; "decklock" is 6 PM ET Sunday. Links are published Monday 12 PM ET. A team that has not submitted by then incurs penalties.
  • - Patches: when a patch lands, a second submission form is REQUIRED before scheduling post-patch matches; the pre-patch form for that week is then not required.
  • - Only 1 deck per member per week is required. Lineups per opponent are optional; if you submit lineups, specify which is intended for each opponent.
  • - Deck requirement (group stage, rulebook 1.1): Syndicate PAIRINGS may not repeat across the three decks in a lineup. Top Cut tightens this (2.3.4): no duplicate syndicates at all, so all 6 regions across the three decks.
  • - Entering a game with a deck other than the one submitted is a game loss, separate from other penalties (1.3.1).
  • - Penalties (1.5): 1st offence game loss for the offending player, 2nd offence game loss for the whole team, 3rd offence dropped from the event. It is the team's responsibility to field legal decks.
  • - Top Cut deck links due 17 September, 6 PM ET. Grand Finals deck links due 25 September, 6 PM ET.
  • Scoring (league operational rule): teams earn points from SET wins; individual game wins do not score, but are recorded on each board and used for tiebreaks. A bye scores nothing: no set points and no match win. Every team in a 5-team pool gets the same number of byes across the season, so nothing is lost.
  • Standings ties (rulebook 2.2.3): Individual Game Win %, then Opponent Match Win %, then Opponent Game Win %; if all else is equal, tied teams enter a Bo3 round robin bracket.
  • Unfinished matches (league operational rule): a match not completed within its scheduled week may be ruled by the TOs; a walkover scores each unplayed board 2-0 to the surviving team, and boards already played stand.
  • Top Cut (rulebook 2.3): the Top 8 teams advance to a double elimination bracket over two days, broadcast live, 19 and 20 September from 12 PM ET (day 1: Round 1, Losers Rd 1, Round 2, Losers Rd 2; day 2: Winners Finals, Losers Rd 3, Losers Finals). Everyone who reaches Top Cut earns 5,000 Crystals guaranteed. Exact advancement across pools is confirmed by the organizers before the cut.
  • Grand Finals (rulebook 2.4, marked WIP there): 26 September, 12 PM ET, broadcast. Captains face off first; the losing Captain is swapped out for Player 1, then Player 2, and so on. First team to 30 points wins; game wins award 6 points (totals may be tuned before the finals).
  • Bugs (rulebook 3.2): a bug before or during mulligan allows ONE reset per game; after that, or for a bug after mulligan, the opposing player has full authority to accept the win. Knowingly exploiting a bug is penalised.
  • Match-fixing (rulebook 3.4): any attempt to influence the outcome of a game or match drops and bans both teams from all future events.
  • Streaming (rulebook 4): players may stream their own matches with at least a 5 minute delay; co-casters too. Fate League broadcasts Top Cut and Finals on twitch.tv/fateleagueevents and youtube.com/@FateLeague.
  • Rulings (rulebook 5): Tournament Admins have the final say in all disputes. Rules may change mid-season; a rule added after the league start takes effect from the following week of play.
  • Payments (rulebook 6): payouts primarily via PayPal; if PayPal does not work for you, contact JasonFleurant.
