Help
Answers to what players ask most. Every event follows the competition rules unless its own page says otherwise.
Playing in an event
How do I enter?
Type /events in the Fate League Discord, open the event and press Register. You need to be a member of the event’s server. One registration per person per event.
When do I check in?
When the event says: check-in usually closes 5 minutes before the start. It is one press in /events or on the event’s post. If you are registered and do not check in, you are marked as a no-show.
The event is full. Can I still play?
Join the waitlist. During check-in, mark yourself ready; when check-in closes, ready players are seated in waitlist order while seats remain.
Where is my opponent?
Type /match: it shows your opponent and their in-game name. The event’s page on this site shows every pairing.
How do I report a result?
Open your match with /match and press the result, like Mira 2-1. Either player reports, and the first report stands. Whoever reported can undo it for 30 minutes, until the next match fed by it has a result.
The result is wrong. What now?
Press Flag this result. It goes privately to the event’s organisers, and the match shows Under review until they decide. Who flagged and why is never shown.
My opponent has not shown up.
Fifteen minutes after your match is ready you can claim a no-show. The match is recorded as a forfeit and the absent player leaves the event.
Can I drop out?
Yes, at any time. Your open match goes to your opponent, and any later match you would have played is a forfeit.
Does the event need a decklist?
Its page says so. Check in with a complete list; lists lock when check-in closes. Seated players’ lists become public then, unless the event says otherwise.
How do season points work?
Every event pays points for playing, for each match won and for your place. The rankings page shows the full table.
Event formats
Each event’s page names its format and how many games a match is. Most matches are best of 3.
- Single elimination
- Lose a match and you are out. Players knocked out in the same round share a place, like 5th to 8th. Some events add a match for third place.
- Double elimination
- You are out after two lost matches. A first loss moves you to the lower bracket, whose winner meets the upper bracket’s winner in the grand final. The grand final is one match unless the event says it has a reset.
- Swiss
- Nobody is knocked out: each round pairs players on the same score. A win is 3 points and a draw 1; with an odd number of players, one player sits out the round with a bye, worth a win. Ties are split by opponents’ match-win percentage, then game-win percentage, then head to head. Some Swiss events finish with a top cut played as a bracket.
- Team league
- Teams meet in fixtures over several weeks, and each fixture is a set of one against one matches. The event’s page explains how its fixtures are reported.
Packs and cards
What are the cards?
Collector prints of each game’s cards, opened in free packs. They have no value, and nothing is ever sold or bought.
How do I get packs?
New packs arrive twice a day and wait for you. Type /rip in the rip room to open the next one.
Are there rarer versions of a card?
No. Every card has one version. The odds page gives the exact chance of every card in a pack.
Where are my cards?
Type /collection in Discord, or open your cards on this site when you are signed in. Look any card up with /card.
The bot’s commands
Type / in the Fate League Discord to see them. Every answer is private unless it says otherwise.

Yes. Hide my collection in /settings keeps your counts out of rip posts, and others cannot open your collection.

Running an event
Who can run an event?
Organisers the community names. They create events in the console on this site or with /staff in Discord.
What happens on the day?
Check-in closes on time, the players are seated and the pairings are posted in the event’s room. Organisers step in for flags, no-shows and corrections.
A result needs changing.
An organiser can change it until the next match fed by it has a result. After the event is final, a correction goes through a ticket for 72 hours.
Still stuck?
Ask staff: open a ticket with Ask staff in the Fate League Discord. Every conversation stays in one place, and staff answer there.
